Foundation by Creating a Research
Endowment in Your Name!

  • Ideal way to secure an Honor Roll Level contribution into perpetuity – a set 5% annually.
  • Excellent way to put your chapter’s large treasury to work!
  • Minimum Contribution of $2,500 for individuals & chapters!

What is a Research Endowment?

An endowment is a fund created by your gift and housed within ASHRAE Foundation. The Foundation invests the money contributed and guarantees a set 5% annual return, beginning one year after the initial gift into perpetuity.At the end of the year, ASHRAE Foundation will transfer the 5% earnings from your Research Endowment to the curr ent year’s RP Campaign. Though you won’t receive tax credit for the 5% disbursement, you will receive recognition for the gift made in your name and it will count toward your chapter and region’s RP goals every year! What better way to ensure your continued support of ASHRAE’s Research Promotion Campaign forever!

Examples You’re a long-time investor of Research and would like to ensure that your support continues after you are no longer an active Member. Instead of your traditional annual gift, consider making a one-time gift of at least $2,500. This way…

  • you receive the initial tax credit for the donation and recognition as a $2,500 donor this year.
  • your chapter receives credit for the $2,500 initial contribution toward their RP Campaign goal.
  • a gift of $125 (or 5% of the gift) will be donated in your name by ASHRAE Foundation to Research, ensuring that Research and your Chapter support is continued into perpetuity.

You and fellow Members have collected $5,000 in honor of another Member’s lifetime service to ASHRAE.  Instead of making a one-time contribution, make a $5,000 Research Endowed Contribution in the Member’s name to ASHRAE Foundation. This way…

  • your Chapter receives credit for $5,000 toward this year’s RP Campaign and 5% ($250) every year after in honor of the chapter member. 
  • the member in the honorarium will be listed in the Honor Roll under the Memorials/ Honorariums section.
  • every year following, into perpetuity, the fund established in the member’s name will be listed at the honor Roll level in the annual Honor Roll.
