Townsend, P.E., is calling on ASHRAE committees and councils to
adopt practices and programs that will demonstrate ASHRAE's leadership
in sustainability. Townsend’s presidential theme is The ASHRAE
Promise: A Sustainable Future. Specifically, Townsend called
for the development of sustainable meeting and publication practices,
more stringent standards, certification programs and activities
that raise ASHRAE’s profile in the sustainability movement.
